The stage is to be used for the BBC Radio 3 stage, for the BBC presenters and acoustic performances, and some live broadcasts, as an integral part of the BBC’s coverage of the UK’s biggest world music festival.

The famously relaxed atmosphere of the festival is being enhanced by the extreme heat from the sun, with every precious bit of shade being used to maximum advantage. As usual at UK festivals umbrellas are out in force but this time as sun shades not rain.

With acts going on until midnight, the new HPSS Dome Stage, is attracting admiring comments, with the unusual nature of the structure fitting in well with the eclectic range of stage structures at WOMAD.

Our thanks go to Stevie Feld, WOMAD production manager, for booking HPSS and being pleasure to work with. We hope to be back next year!
