Awards Ceremony for C Spencer
After several years of using different venues and production companies C Spencer approached HPSS to deliver a full technical solution for their awards ceremony. With prior experience in the entertainments industry Peter Kay from C Spencer had a clear vision for the technical side of event, something HPSS were only too pleased to assist in delivering.
HPSS Staging hire supplied a 20ft x 12ft stage with stepped access at three points to ensure easy access to the stage for both performers and awards winners. HPSS Staging also created three dressing rooms backstage for quick change access during the show itself.
HPSS Sound & Lighting hire supplied two flown trusses for the the event along with three ground support trusses for the screens & backstage drapes. Alongside the black drapes supplied by HPSS on these trusses Hairy Lemon Events supplied additional décor tied in with the theme of the whole event.
It was important to Peter that the event both looked impressive visually and sounded impressive and HPSS were only to happy to deliver a highly spec’d sound & lighting setup for the event. Lighting was designed and operated by Bart Wedolowski and utilised some 22 Martin moving heads along with 18 LED PARs for room lighting and the usual profiles & other generic fixtures.
HPSS PA hire supplied a all L-Acoustic PA system for the event utilising 115XT’s and 108P’s to give even coverage for each of the 350 guests along with four SB218 subwoofers to give plenty of low end for both the post awards ceremony disco and sound effects accompanying the video playback.
AV Support was provided by YSLV comprising two Barco R6 Projectors used in Widescreen format. As all the video was produced in house by C Spencer, YSLV liaised closely with Peter to ensure files were exported in the right format and resolution to load into the playout system for the show itself. Video content was accompanied by live input from a steadicam which was free to roam over the entire audience area by utilising a gigawave link also supplied by YSLV.
HPSS Hire also provided a full comms setup to ensure easy communication between Peter who cued the whole event and the rest of the technical crew both at front of house and backstage.
The event was a fantastic success and ran seamlessly throughout thanks to the hard work and dedication of both Peter and the technical crew both on site and in the run up to the event.
