Freedom Festival 2009
For the second year running HPSS were proud to supply PA hire for the main stage at Freedom Festival. In addition to the main stage HPSS were also asked to supply PA systems for the “Sesh Stage”, Carabosse’s two art installations in the old town and provide sound equipment for the one of the highlights of the festival, a 20 minute long fireworks display centered around Myton bridge / The Deep.
HPSS supplied L Acoustics systems on each site (excluding the carabosse systems) ensuring rider friendly systems with the highest possible sound quality.
The main stage PA system comprised 18 dV-DOSC, 6 dV-SUBs with 12 SB218’s driven by L Acoustic & Camco amplifiers. The FOH system was driven by our Midas Heritage 1000 whilst an all L-Acoustic line up on monitors was driven by one of our M7Cl’s (supplied with external DN360’s on graphics). Monitors were 115XT HiQ’s with sidefills comprising SB218 and Arcs driven by Camco & Lab Gruppen Amplifiers.
HPSS also co-ordinated supply & licencing of 6x Shure UHF-R systems from Handheld Audio. As the Saturday afternoon show ran continuously into Viking FM’s evening session it was essential that these systems worked in conjunction with both additional radio systems supplied by HPSS and IEM systems supplied by both JLS & The Saturdays. The show went extremely smoothly with the whole day running to time, delighting thousands of fans who turned out to see headline acts such as Basshunter, JLS & The Saturdays.
On the Sunday the main stage played host to BBC Raw Talent showcasing some of the best artists from the region. HPSS supplied a multicore split for recording the bands across the day. In the evening the main stage hosted Patrick Wolf and Florence & the machine to close the festival.
HPSS stage hire also supplied their ever popular 8m x 6m trailer stage at the Sesh stage site which played host to local bands across the Friday and Saturday evenings.
The Sesh Stage utilised 8 ARC’s and 4 SB218’s with an M7CL on FOH and a Midas Verona on Monitors.
The main fireworks site ustilised 24 dV-DOSC and 16 SB28’s in addition to HPSS’s long throw public address horns to provide additional coverage on myton bridge. A 1W UHF link was used to relay music for the fireworks between the two sites.
