Jazz Festival 2006
Once again HPSS have been providing top quality PA system and stage management to both the popular Cleethorpes and Scarborough Jazz festivals in September. The three day festivals featured a fantastic array of internationally renowned artists including Georgie Fame, Michael Garrick, Ian Shaw and Liane Carrol. The Scarborough festival was compered by world famous saxophone player Alan Barnes. HPSS provided a completely L’acoustic and Midas PA system . Front of House was provided by Martin Wharton and Iain Firth, Monitors mixed by Simon Lutkin Stage by Dave Cartwright and Stage Manager Hanna Houghton.
This is our 5th year at the Cleethorpess Jazz Festival that takes place at The Beachcomber Park in Cleethorpes and brings some of the top names in Jazz to this coast side venue as well as offering a platform for young performers. The weekend featured storming sets from Tony Kofi, Michael Garrick, Liane Carrol and Alan Barnes’ tribute to Horace Andy. Charlotte Bowen, Arts Development Officer for North East Lincs Council who organised the event found us to be of the usual standard ‘100% for professionalism, reliability and sound quality – allowing us 100% peace of mind every time’.
Now in it’s forth year Scarborough Jazz festival is going from strength to strength and has had a full sound system from HPSS since it began. This festival has an eclectic bill featuring both traditional and contemporary artists. This year there was Latin beats from Tangalo, Ian Shaw and Lianne Carroll gave a show stealing performance as well as veteran singer Georgie Fame showing everyone how it’s done. The festival was compered with great humour by world famous saxophone player Alan Barnes.
