PA Hire for Bootleg Beatles tour of Holland
The Bootleg Beatles needed a complete PA hire and transport solution for their autumn tour of the Netherlands. So at the beginning of October we loaded our own 18 ton truck with a 12 box dV-DOSC PA system, and the bands backline and costumes and caught the ferry from Hull to Rotterdam, returning four weeks and 25 shows later. As the tour had to be brought in on a tight budget, FOH was an M7CL and the monitors were driven by a Yamaha LS9 32. A total of 8 L Acoustics HiQ monitors were supplied thee whole system being powered by 7 LA8 Amplifiers. Front fill duties were coverd by a pair of L Acoustics 108P’S. FOH was mixed by the Bootlegs regular engineer Marc Langley, and monitors were operated by Hugh Jones. Rob Mussam drove the HPSS truck and assisted Terry Merchant, who was in charge of the Bootlegs collection of original vintage guitars.See the pictures in the gallery. The tour was a resounding success with audiences building form the first night to culminate with a sellout show. The dV-DOSC line array PA system was used in a variety of configurations to adapt to the needs of each venue. PA system design for each venue was a joint effort between Hugh Jones and Marc Langley.
