PA Hire for Musicport Festival
After a long standing relationship with the Musicport Festival in Whitby, HPSS were again asked to supply the PA system for the festival in 2008 at its new home in Bridlington at the recently re-furbished Spa venue. As ever, the lineup for this years Festival featured a vast array of different artist’s ranging from acts like ‘The Levellers’ through to Reem Kelani and Rolf Harris! Prior to the festival HPSS collated specs & backline requirements organising the hire of a shared backline set for use throughout the duration of the festival.
FOH sound was covered by Duncan Bavister, Monitors by David Cartwright and Systems by Iain Firth & Chris Crowther.
The FOH system for this years festival comprised 12x dV-DOSC, 4x dV-SUB and 8x SB218s all driven with Camco Amplification and BSS Processing. ARCs were used for front fills along with the venue’s in-house L Acoustic 108’s for balcony fills. A Midas Heritage 1000 and Midas Verona were supplied for the Friday Night with the Heritage being used for the remainder of the weekend on FOH.
The Monitor system was driven by a Yamaha M7CL supplied with 2x ADDA expansion cards to enable external KT DN360 graphics to be used along with a combination of 115XT HiQ’s and SB118’s for drum fill. Sidefills were SB218’s and ARCs again driven by camco amplification.
Amongst all the usual festival duties HPSS also liased with both BBC Radio 3 and Reem Kelani to provide full multicore splits / patch lists for recording purposes.
HPSS also supplied 6x Explorer 575 Spot moving heads to compliment the Spa’s in-house system all of which were operated by Keith Harper.
