The South
In the Spring of 2009 Hugh Jones was asked by Dave Stead and Ray Furze to Mix Monitors for the recently formed New Beautiful South, Featuring Dave Hemingway – vocals, Alison Wheeler – vocals, Dave Stead – drums, Damon Butcher – keyboards, Tony Robinson and Gaz Birtles – brass for the Beautiful South. Shortly thereafter Ray’s extensive touring commitments took him of elsewhere and Hugh moved to FOH and Iain Firth took over on monitor duties. This led to some festival appearances then an Autumn UK tour and a short February Tour. As well as supplying engineers HPSS have supplied sound equipment where required, and on occasions a complete dV-DOSC system. Hugh Commented “For a band like this where the songs are so important and the biggest fans are familiar with every nuance of every song the clarity, detail and presence achievable with this system is a great help.” Several festival dates are now lined up for this year and plans for another UK tour are underway.
